Totti wants more

The earth shakes in AS Roma’s playground after the   sporting director Walter Sabatini has harshly criticized Francesco Totti, accusing him that his “vanity” is “killing the team” through his opposition regarding the new coach Luis Enrique, who did not placed the Italian player in the first  11 since he came to Roma.

“This situation is about to kill the team. Totti must deal with these exclusions in another way. He must learn to manage the situation better, he must put aside any form of vanity in order to help the group.” said Walter Sabatini.

Totti, who reached his 34 years, was just a substitute player in the game with Slovan Bratislava from the Europa League play-off round. Annoyed by the situation, he came the next day with a workout shirt with the inscription “Basta! / Enough”, making referral to the coach.

Sabatini continued: “In the modern football, there can be no untouchable players. We are in an impasse and I feel the danger of this situation that needs to be solved. Otherwise, there will be no team and there will be football.”

Francesco Totti is in the 20th season playing for AS Roma, many years in which he became an important voice of Roma. He was one of the people who opposed from the start to the coming of Luis Enrique as a coach and Franco Baldini on the general manager position.

AS Roma went fishing

On the final run to the start of the championship, AS Roma makes an interesting move, after some negotiations with Barcelona.

Spanish striker Bojan Krkic has been given from FC Barcelona to AS Roma in exchange of the “small amount” of 12 million euros, but with a clause in the contract between the clubs that Catalans can redeem the player with 13 million at the end of season 2012 / 2013.

“I am very sad, I hoped I will have here a chance to play, but I have not. Guardiola was not right with me, but I am not able to judge him. They remained queries things between us, but if so he thought. … Anyway, he’s the best coach for Barcelona. I hope to play in Rome, because I love football, I want to show it on the ground, how much I love it. Barcelona will remain in my heart all of my life!” Bojan said at a press conference in tears.

Bojan Krkic, 20, with Serbian father and Catalan mother, debuted in the Primera Division in October 2007, at age 17 became the youngest player in the history of FC Barcelona who scores a goal in the league.

Shakhtar, the Eastern Star

Shakhtar opens score early in the game,through Willian’s cross-shot, killing all hopes for Roma. Roma has a chance to revive,a penalty given by the English referee, but Shakhtar’s goalkeeper stands in front Marco Borriello’s goal.

Showing absolutely nothing, Shakhtar comes over the Italian defensive like a tsunami, wave after wave. Even with a low budget play, Roma remains in 10, loosing Merxes, after the second yellow card. De Rosi makes a grotesque gesture, hitting the opponent team captain, a red card fault, but Howard Web forgives him, showing just a yellow card.

Second part of the game starts almost the same like the firs, Shakhtar raising the bar at 2-0(5-2), through Wilian’s superb goal, leaving Doni without a reaction. Eduardo seals the future in this edition of Champions League for Roma in the 85 minute, going thru the entire defensive, putting the ball in the net.

Mircea Lucescu:
“Italians have underestimated us in the first match, when they took us from up and they thought they were winners before the match started. In return, we have taken seriously, but it was very difficult for them to change the result. If I expect to win with 6-2 on aggregate? No, but I trusted my team. We played great in both parties. At this level there is nothing accidental ”

Shakhtar- Roma, the beasts unleash!- last minute info

Hours before game, the declaration battle overflows. Shakhtar’s romanian coach, Mircea Lucescu also known as ”Il luce” tries to put fear in Europe’s titans, remark that Barca, Roma or Arsenal aren’t above his boys.

Being a favorite on qualifying in the first quarter of the League, over Roma, Lucescu puts aside modesty and insists on the belief that his team reached the giants Barcelona and Arsenal, the opponents in the other 8th scheduled tonight.

Lucescu said: “There is no team better than us, we lost to Arsenal 5-1 in the fall, but with unbelievable arbitration mistakes against us and the result did not reflect the physiognomy of the game. Two weeks later we dominated and won 2-1. As recently saw Arsenal beat Barcelona … And we’ve already defeated them on their stadium. ”

As a reply, Francesco Totti, AS Roma‘s captain, is convinced that his team can beat Shakhtar Donetsk, cancel the one-goal advantage and that may qualify in the Champions League quarterfinals “We know what to do to put Shakhtar in difficulty. Vicenzo Montella changed the system. We returned to a tactic that we know very well ” Totti said.

Roma preparing!

After a lucky one this week with Lecce, with a goal in the 90th minute, Montella’s gladiators are facing another week with high expectations. Everything starts Tuesday, in the Champions League 16-ies, with the match against Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, followed shortly by the Rome derby against Lazio.

To stretch the strings even more, rumours about Montella’s successor in the person of Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho, are rising.
“I don’t upset myself with rumours on the possible or hypothetical arrival of another Coach,” Montella said.
“Mourinho is a great Coach. His record speaks for itself, but I am only thinking about doing well until June. “
“I repeat the rumours don’t bother me.”

Despite all events, the players have to remain focused on their objectives, because they need to overturn a one-goal deficit and try to give their best on foreign grounds.
